Diversity for Sustainable and Resilient Agriculture: BESTMAP at the Landscape 2021 Conference
On 20-22 September 2021, BESTMAP will participate at the Landscape 2021 Conference – Diversity for Sustainable and Resilient Agriculture.
Landscape 2021 will bring together scientists from across disciplines with key actors to explore whether and how diversity and diversification can contribute to a more sustainable and resilient agriculture. Promising approaches reduce trade-offs between high productivity and use of external resources, the provisioning of ecosystem services, biodiversity and soil health as well as robust economic perspectives, social justice, cultural values and recreational opportunities.
The event will showcase 38 sessions with 175 presentations and 83 poster presentations, promising to highlight the state of the art in agricultural landscape research and promote critical exchange on pathways to more resilient and sustainable agriculture.
BESTMAP will attend the conference with a dedicated session Farmer typologies for agri-environmental policy analysis and design: Methods, uses and insights, where BESTMAP’s team members will present the abstract From empirical findings to a formalized model: An agent-based approach to represent farmer decision-making on agri-environmental schemes.
The focus of this submission is to influence policy-making with a methodological contribution by developing an empirically driven decision framework for the adoption of agri-environmental schemes (AES).
